Description

A favourite open water / learn to scuba dive site in a giant kelp forest. Very easy shore access either from the beach or from the pier. Weedy sea dragons, rays, big-bellied sea horses, cowfish and crayfish are regularly seen. Reports of large schooling fish and glimpses of dolphins are frequent too. The site is protected from the elements and is therefore a good spot to dive when other sites are blown out.

On the northern edge of the site there is a wreck, the top of which sits above the water, and this makes for an interesting visit too. But the main draw is the endless avenues of kelp forest and the multituse of underwater species found here.

To access this site you must enter the newly created Marine Park – but it is currently free to enter.
